Bloc Party have chosen a producer for their upcoming second album.Tentatively titled ‘Urbanite Relaxation’, the follow up to the critically acclaimed ‘Silent Alarm’, will be produced by former Compulsion guitarist now successful producer Jacknife Lee.

Mastodon have posted their version of Metallica’s ‘Orion’ at www.myspace.com/mastodon. This is the finished version, as compared to what is said to be the unmastered cut that appeared on the recent ‘Remastered’ album, the 20th anniversary tribute to the ‘Master Of Puppets’ record, put together by Kerrang! magazine.

Dallas band Fair To Midland have signed to Serjical Strike, the label run by Serj Tankian of System Of A Down. Tankian himself is expected to produce the band’s new album.

Disturbed will now play two shows at London’s Astoria on their UK tour later in the year. The new list of dates is Newcastle Carling Academy September 29, Manchester University October 2, Nottingham Rock City 4, Liverpool Carling Academy 7, London Astoria 9/10. Support comes from Nevermore.

Motley Crue will have to finish up their Canadian tour without drummer Tommy Lee, who’s still suffering from tendonitis. His replacement is former Skrape man Will Hunt, with Dark New Day.
